Unsung Hero Supports ISPCA and Vanishes!

This summer, we offered show organisers the opportunity to nominate an ‘Unsugn Hero’—a person connected to their organisation who they believed deserved special recognition for their work.

In true unsung hero style, the winning nominee has chosen to remain unsung and has requested that their €100 award be donated to the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals [ISPCA].

The superhero we have therefore chosen to represent them is the ‘Invisible Person’.

Images from 2015 Tullamore Show

With over 60,000 people attending in 2015, the Tullamore Show is now one of Ireland’s biggest agriculture events.

A sunny August Sunday saw hundreds of farmers arrive early to the Butterfield Estate to await the judges’ verdicts (and rosettes!) on their prize cattle, sheep, horses and poultry.

Competitions were held in baking, knitting, crafts, handwriting, fashion, horticulture, art and photography making it an event for everyone.

The Best Dressed Lady, Best Dressed Man, Bonny Baby, Glamorous Granny … and Best Dressed Dog competitions added to the day’s entertainment but provided little distraction to those glued to the all-Ireland semi-final on the main walkway’s large outdoor screen.

Minister Mr. Simon Coveney formally opened the show and highlighted that “agricultural shows such as this one in Tullamore play an important role in the social calendar of the farming community. … They allow farmers to meet their friends and fellow farmers and discuss the latest developments in farming and the agri-food business.”

Reward Your Unsung Hero with a €100 Gift Voucher (and rosette)!

Every show has one great organiser – the ‘unsugn hero’. They may be a member, volunteer, employee, club secretary etc. who manages the logistics from prizes and catering to parking and contingencies for the crazy Irish weather!

We are offering you a chance to say ‘Thank You’ to that special person with a €100 One4All gift voucher which we will give for the best nomination we receive. We will also create a special ‘Unsung Hero’ rosette that can be presented to the winner.

Please nominate a person who you think deserves special recognition for their work in 50 words max.

Entries will be judged on August 31st so please ensure your entries have been sent to us before then at:
